Re: ...an Error has occured

Yep don't really want big maps downloading by WIFI, but may have to revert to that. At this time it looks like after all the connections are made and i confirm data link on the XT it connect in around 60 seconds

Re: ...an Error has occured

Today was more of the same, Update..no connection..reconnect..no connection..try again connecting. Update reboots no connection. Reboot PC and device connection. Update starts again. Rinse repeat. Come back to it in a few days. Most definitely much more unstable in the update area i hope this does n...

...an Error has occured

Anyone else getting error message as they try to update their XT. I realize this is the 21st Century and tech features "semi work" but the Garmin has always been good before.
Checkecd cable and it is OK

Re: Complex Routes transferred to Google Earth

KML's are not available for me to choose. More reading gets to why all this was turned off - you need the spyware Chrome! I presume you need to run it live from there and not the standalone program. Hence giving more spying opportunities

Complex Routes transferred to Google Earth

I like to tour with the GPS and have intricate routes using many shaping points. For years I fought a rear guard action with the old Basecamp version and old Google earth but they have finally caught up with me and switched off these functions. Now you have to save the route and transfer it to GE, b...

Re: Zumo 660 Screen Brightness Fix

We take standard displays all the time at work and enhance the backlight as well as other options. Sadly this is for around 100 minimum. There maybe some scope to find the OEM part number for the display and see if there is an higher output device

Re: Bluetooth Advice Needed

The Nuvi 7 series is 12 years old. I can understand it was a pain back then. I may be up there with you as a tech hater but the 550/660/595 and XT i have had have worked very well on BT. There are always some little things you have to watch as well as some finessing but the forum usually sorts these...

Re: Bluetooth Advice Needed

I am fairly sure the XT will not do that. It can connect to a phone and a headset. I guess you like the ability to use your MP3 as I would suggest put your music on the Garmin and use the MP3 interface there. There may be some scope to connect your phone to the XT and your MP3 if your phone is newis...

Re: 660 not importing route properly

I had this on my XT recently. It was because I saved the route on my PC as a .GDB not a .GPX
