Re: Zumo XT turns off while riding
I had the same happen to me yesterday and noticed that the charge icon wasn’t showing. This morning I took a look at the mount and it seemed that one of the spring-loaded contact pins was stuck in. A bit of jiggling and a touch of WD40 appears to have freed it and the XT is working as it should (for ...

Re: No visible maps after latest update
No, REHTony, never be tempted to do an update if you’re about to head off on a long road-trip. Don’t ask me how I know

Re: Drive disconnects
I had a problem with Drive not connecting if the XT was already switched on. It connects instantly if I switch on the XT when Drive is already running on my phone. Probably no use to you, but I thought I’d throw it in!

Re: No visible maps after latest update
This has just happened to me, not the first time with a Garmin nav over the years. I guess a factory reset and map reinstall is next. What a pain!
EDIT: I’ve just turned the device off by holding the button until the OFF screen appears. Powered it up and all is as should be with all maps available

Thank you, Mr Heath, for this invaluable advice on using Explore. I’ve got it all working now. As you say, clunky but effective!

Re: Battery life experience
I had it running in the car last night for 4 and half hours. I forgot that you need to plug in the power cable to the zumo itself!! Anyway, the battery still had life when I got home. Had it set at 70% brightness and 100% spoken directions. Would never have got anywhere near this with my 595.

Re: Zumo 590/595 Vs Zumo XT
The bright screen, the feel of the screen and the wireless capability made it a very worthwhile upgrade from my 595.

Zumo XT Software Error?
Press on the satellite strength indicator to bring up the satellite info. Touch the three bars then touch GPS Graph View. There is now no way out of the screen without turning the device off!

Zumo XT - A Revelation!
It was delivered earlier today and I’ve spent a few hours getting to know it and I am feeling that it is light-years ahead of the 660 and 595 that I’ve used for years. Have Garmin at last come up with a device that, without actually road testing it, I am at a loss to pick holes in. So, straight out o ...
