Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

I have the same thought about the rubber cover. Is does not give good tactile feedback to indicate it is attached, leading to pressing harder than required. Add gloves and this is compounded.

This could easily lead to some of the problems with the pins

Re: Where are favourites stored - bulk remove

thanks sussamb and mzeist for this clarification. I can now safely go at it. I am importing GPX files from a group that shares data on off road trails. The one I downloaded recently had a huge number of POI's stored as favouriest, (because they are part of the GPX file) and now they are stuck in the ...

Re: Where are favourites stored - bulk remove

so the current.gpx is a file intended for the user to be able to download the favourites - as a backup for example?

Re: Where are favourites stored - bulk remove

Ok guys I found the delete all for the favorites - thanx Was hoping for more a scalpel approach rather than the sledge hammer. sussamb you mention the current.gpx file. Has anyone tried to edit this file and reload it via PC? Could this be a more nuanced way of wittling down the ...

Where are favourites stored - bulk remove

Hi, I want to clean out most of the favourites in my device and thought the simplest way was to plug in the XT to my PC and delete them from the appropriate folder. I found a folder called POI but no Favourites. The entries in POI are not what I see in Favourites on the XT. Can anyone offer any tips ...

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

Hi Exurban Thanks for underlining this. It has given me some hope that the first cable that died pretty fast is an exception. Maybe my paranoid reaction is unjustified.
Its always good to hear the other side so you can find the middle better

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

You may be right about lapsed QC, but my feeling is that it is an acute failure that can afflict any unit.
I feel all of us are one silly swipe with a jacket, or clumps push on the rubber cover away from a broken pin.

If yours are still OK, then you a careful or lucky or both.

Glad to hear the Spanish support is up to scratch.
Pity that the cable fails at all!

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

now I have a new one. This one looks completely stuffed! The damage I had to mine was a bent pin casing (the tube in which the pin moves) This meant that if I moved the pin with my finger nail till it was straight again, I could make it work. So I have a somewhat fragile truce with my cradle, but I ...
