Garmin has just released 4.8.11 update for Basecamp.

I have a Sena 50s paired to the XT and my iPhone also and they seem to work ok. I am not sure about bluetooth headsets.

I found the answer on Garmin Support page that you can not have both Garmin Express and Basecamp running at the same time. I had Express running in the background and that was the cause of the problem.

I can not get Basecamp to recognize my XT but Garmin Express does. I am using an iMac with Big Sur OS. Is anyone else having this problem? I can export, email and use Garmin Drive to load routes to the XT.

Turn off the automatic for your Off-Route Recalculation setting in Navigation. If you do not it will recalculate your route when you get off route and it will not be what you planned. I have mine set to prompt or off. That will allow you to rejoin your route and the XT will just pick up and continue...

I have found that it is slow to respond to just about anything. Such as trying to drag the map around to change the displayed location. I do not know what it was like in the previous version but beware of the Beta 11.

It works fine with my Iphone XR and Basecamp does run on an Imac and I would imagine that it will work on a Macbook.

It maybe that the doggle you are using is not compatible with the XT.
