Think you confound Garmin Drive with the older 'Smartphone Link' - there is no option for battery management in the settings of Garmin Drive...

You're right that normally a unit should not be powered on while inserting a card, but especially with the Zumo XT here in some german forums users are reporting, that, just like sayed in the post before, the Zumo XT asks for formatting the microsd-card, when it is inserted while the unit is on...

I think i've read some time ago that owner of 'POI's' (hotels, gas stations and so on) which are private and not public have to pay to appear as POI's on the maps...

No answer for the TourGuide problem (does the Zumo XT support it at all?) - but for the icons i'm using 80x80 pixels with no problems!? With a size of 80x80 they are as big as the pre-installed icons - with 24x24 they are nearly invisible... Maybe you have an error in bit-depth or color-count with y...

Just like ConiKost mentioned - the new firmware 5.90 'triggers' Garmin Express to use the new map administration and this new map administration prevents the user from installing the maps also to pc/mac. It's not only no the newest 7.4.0.0., but also on the former 7.3.1.0. version of GE...
