If the battery is really empty, the only way to get it back to life is in the motorcycle mount, connected to a bike or car battery - try it!

For me it sounds like a dead (empty) battery - when you have access to a motorcycle or a car battery, i would test it with the original motorcycle-mount of the Zumo XT! Often this works! @jfheath - be careful with the term 'turned off', this could be misleading for new users! When you want to charge the unit from a wall charger, it should be in standby - not turned off!
