Track Up is easiest if you just want to get to your destination.
North Up is better if you want to learn where you are in relation to other places.
I spent a week driving in a distant city using Track Up and left with no idea where I had been or even how to get out of town.

Re: XT not flagging closed roads
If I can, I try to check Google for road closures on my route before I leave home so that I can plan my own detours. Even on the occasions when the XT is aware of a closure, the alternate routes it finds are usually very poor choices.

Re: BaseCamp Map Once Again Cluttered With Symbols
No History channel "H" here, or any other H. What map do you have active in Basecamp? Most icons of that sort would be selected in Edit>Options>Activity Profile>General>Map Display Features The only icon I see with the right gold color is under Points>Shopping. 2024_08_18_22_24_22_Displayed_Features ...

Re: Garmin Zumo XT2 Memory
With the XT, I first connect to my PC with USB. Then open Windows Explorer, right-click "This PC/Zumo XT/Internal Storage" and select Properties.

Re: Windows 11 Beta will increase limit for FAT32
[Storage] When formatting disks from the command line using the format command, we’ve increased the FAT32 size limit from 32GB to 2TB. That's a step in the right direction, but I'm concerned that MS says that the new capability is for formatting from the command line. I'd guess that few of us would ...

Re: 15 Aug 2024 Garmin Tread App update
I love it when companies provide detailed release notes so I know what bugs have been fixed and I can fully appreciate all the new "functionality".

Re: Routes Change from Tread App to XT2
I'd expect the XT2 to display the "calculating" message every time you begin a route, just like previous Zumos. A route ALWAYS involves some calculating because the Zumo must find a path from your current location to the entry point of the planned route. If the planned portion of the route is being ...

Re: Help (Small Screw)
I think it is a M1.7 or M1.6 x 5 mm thread forming screw for plastic.
DIgital caliper says root diameter is 1.42 mm, outer thread diameter is 1.65 mm.
Edit: further searching suggests M1.6 is the best match for diameter and pitch. I'm not finding a source for small quantities.

Re: ALTITUDE READING
Elevation is also shown with other trip data displayed by pressing the map speed indicator, with or without a route in progress. I only use GPS (phone or Zumo) elevation to get a very rough idea of altitude. Elevation errors of 75 feet or more are common. The readings seldom match an actual surveyed ...
