Re: Zumo XT: how does traffic data compare vs Waze or TomTom?
Yep. The way I see it: a rugged smartphone (not your main phone): - you need a separate sim with data to get traffic + you have more options: Waze, the TomTom app, Google Maps, other apps, etc + you don't have to worry about a temperamental connection with your phone to get traffic data - you won't ...

Re: Zumo XT: how does traffic data compare vs Waze or TomTom?
For what i already read, TomTom traffic is still better. Do you mean in Portugal or in Europe in general? This is actually one of the reasons why I am wondering if it wouldn't be better to just buy a cheap, second hand rugged waterproof phone and use that as satnav. I wouldn't use my main phone as ...

Zumo XT: how does traffic data compare vs Waze or TomTom?
I am in the UK and I was wondering if any one has had a chance to compare the traffic data they get on the Zumo XT vs that of TomTom or Waze, especially in cities, ie outside of motorways. I remember comparing TomTom and Garmin a good 10 years ago and finding that TomTom's traffic data was better ...

Andrew_XT How did you find Garmin's traffic data vs TomTom or other sources (eg Waze)?

Re: Zumo XT: reliable bluetooth connection (traffic data)? TomTom doesn't, making it unusable
PS It seems that the bluetooth connection issues on TomToms are caused by the "Bluetooth Low Energy" protocol which, despite having been around for quite a few years, is still not supported very well by all phones. Does anyone know if the Zumo XT also uses BLE?

Re: Traffic data in Europe: Garmin vs TomTom, which is better?
No idea about TT but Garmin traffic does more than just covering motorways, both in UK and in France, where I regularly drive. Thanks. So Garmin does show you traffic in inner city roads in London, Paris and the like, right? Have you had a chance to compare the traffic data with anything else, like ...

Traffic data in Europe: Garmin vs TomTom, which is better?
I am based in the UK. Have you ever compared the coverage and quality of the traffic data for TomTom vs Garmin? Many years ago I remember comparing a TomTom, which would receive traffic data through an integrated sim, with a Garmin with traffic data via FM radio, and TomTom was much better, more ...

Zumo XT: reliable bluetooth connection (traffic data)? TomTom doesn't, making it unusable
Does the Garmin XT have a reliable bluetooth connection with Android phones? I ask because my TomTom Rider 550 doesn’t: the connection is so unstable that the traffic data is basically unusable. One day it works, one day it doesn’t at all, one other day it comes and goes. TomTom refuse to replace or ...
