I found with mine it was related to heat
Thanks Stu. I haven't used it since the ghosting ride but this morning had the wild hair to test it with simulation mode. I'll let run through this 3 hour route just for the halibut.

Re: Ghosting happened yesterday

@Stu, or anybody, do you know whether running in simulation mode is a valid way to test for ghosting? I'm running it now but am wondering if I might be wasting my time.

Re: Route points: Some non-alerting, some alerting

but you would need to make sure this Waypoint is moved to the centre of the magenta route, if not already, would you not? I would say "yes" but with a "but", and that "but" is if you have shaped the route and are now going back to add fuel and scenic stops. If there is a fuel stop near where you ...

Re: Parasitic Draw on the Zumo

I'm wondering if the mounted 396 was not fully charged when it was mounted. If not, it would be drawing power because it is charging. After that, it is logical that a mounted satnav would continue to draw enough power to keep itself charged.

Re: Leave the Road

It certainly is possible that there was a mess-up either with your position or with the road location on the map. I have not experienced your specific scenario but I regularly get advised that I am off-route when I'm not. My recalculation is set to "Prompt" so when it happens, I get the 'off-route ...

Re: Leave the Road

The route points look fine. Was the route navigating normally up until it misbehaved on US-27? I ask because your starting point was a hotel, or more specifically, what appears to be where the hotel lobby entrance is. It is unlikely that your satnav got close enough to that point to have considered ...

Re: Leave the Road

Second day was sort of OK except I got directed onto a paved road that turned to dirt but that is not my main issue (although it is a big thing). This is not uncommon. I have experienced the "paved road is actually unpaved" issue numerous time over that past few years that I have had my XT. The ...

 @jfheath, I recall the signature line you used for awhile that expressed frustration over finding another method that didn't work.

Re: Not Receiving Text Messages from iPhone

Phone calls - I can't reproduce this as I don't have an iphone. But somehwere, there should be a facility to automatically answer a call - possibly only if a BT device is connected. Ditto for Hanging up. On the Android, these options are in the settings available from the Phone app itself, rather ...
