Re: Software update

I am back with an update...
When using Vivaldi, early indications are that enabling the "Remember me" option at login seems to resolve the issue of having to login again when navigating with the site (eg: switching from 'Unread posts' to 'Board index' or vice versa).

I have tested these other ...

Re: Software update

Don't obsess over Vivaldi on my account. There is another site that I frequent that Vivaldi doesn't like so this one isn't the only one. I really like Vivaldi because it is extremely configurable. It is my default browser, but no my only browser. It has built-in tracker and ad blocking which I ...

Re: XT screen goes dim

I’m going to check bike wiring loom connectors in case but is this dimming another XT quirk??

Not that I know of, except when on battery as a power-saving feature. I have never experienced my XT dimming while powered during riding.
What you describe sounds like the XT gets enough power on bike ...

Re: Software update

Stu , FYI... I have not been able to get the version to function correctly with my default browser Vivaldi. Logins frequently fail, site navigation (eg: Board index, Quick links) result in needing to login again. Cookies and site data have been cleared. The site appears to be functioning fine with ...

Re: Any tips to fix RUT without computer?

My RUT experience has always been the result of first having skipped a point then going off-route and allowing it to recalculate. To be clear, RUT is not repeated u-turn prompts that are trying to get you to visit a Via point that you missed.

And having the track displayed will only help in this ...

Re: Any tips to fix RUT without computer?

My comment would be the same as what Oop North John said. I don't understand why it didn't work at home though, provided you were testing it with a local route that started from your house (or close to it).

The way RUT gets fixed if by changing a bit (mimport) in the .trip file which is the file ...

Re: Hi from France

Welcome to the forum @Jeancap_31. I visited Paris once, although I don't consider a one-day Trafalgar tour out of London as much of a visit; more like I a dip of my little toe into France.

I'm glad you had the opportunity to ride over here. I hope we represented ourselves well.

Re: GE 7.28.1.0

GE 7.28.1.0 was announced on the Garmin forum on May14 sometime after I started this discussion. That announcement contained one release note:
Addressed an issue with Edge x40 devices stuck in a boot loop state

Re: The Zumo XT screen works great in sunlight

It certainly does! I put a cheap matte plastic phone screen protector on mine. Doesn't affect screen visibility much but it does cut down on the glare and sun reflection.

I did the same, though mine was less effective than what rbentnail reports. Reflection from my hi-viz jacket and helmet can ...

Re: Fun with shaping a route on the XT

Basecamp follows the same logic if you have three way / shaping points that cover a couple of miles and take out the middle one, inside of a long route, then it'll still recalculate the whole 2500+ miles route.

Good point. I should have made clear that the route I was shaping was a calculated ...
