Re: Zumo XT voice instruction at roundabout

I wish every significant roundabout here in the U.S. was like that. I probably have already described one near me that replaced and 4-way stop and was, IMO, designed beautifully with an inner lane and outer lane, and clear signage how to use both. In less that a year it was reduced to a single lane ...

Re: Viewing GPX files on iphone

I have used GPX-Viewer. In fact, I used it on my first ride with a new group for navigation and meeting them at a mid-point in the ride. There are a number of similar apps available. GPX-Viewer is the only one I have tried. It got the job done but I purchased my XT shortly thereafter so only used ...

Re: Need Some "How To" Advice

Didn't know about the intersection thing, you may be right. At the time I was trying to place a point on I-77 in Podunk, WV where roads are few and far between. I'll check this out. Last night I discovered that it would also place a point on a bridge (this one was over a river). It may be placing ...

Re: Need Some "How To" Advice

I've never used the Shape Route option as I tried it and had idea what I was doing and screwed everything up. This time I did Trip Planner/pick route/Shape Route. I zoomed in as far as possible on the shaping point I want to delete and touch the map as close as I can to that point. I'm then given a ...

Re: Need Some "How To" Advice

If the route is saved... - go into Trip Planner - select the route - long hold on a route point (3 seconds). Options will come up that vary based on the type of point. Via Points can be deleted or their position sequence changed. Shaping points can only be deleted. AFAIK, moving a point requires ...

Re: Wrench icon gone?

Just to add another voice to this discussion I will chime in to say that I can not duplicate the missing spanner after checking my15 saved tracks. I did not know that a track color could be passed from Basecamp to the XT. In fact, I did not know you could set a track color in Basecamp. Thanks for ...

Re: Duplicate multiple waypoints to a different list?

I do that all the time. Duplicate a waypoint and it is placed in the same list. I then rename the duplicated waypoint, cut, and then paste in the new list. Or sometimes leave there with the new name and add to the route. Of course, this is one at a time. I didn't give a thought to cut and paste. I ...

Re: Track voice instructions

I have managed for all these years without using tracks I think I can see out my days without them and go back to using routes. If you have ever had the XT recalculate a route that resulted in changes to the remainder of the route, having a track of the original route showing on the map is valuable ...

Re: Duplicate multiple waypoints to a different list?

Try duplicating the entire original route list. Bingo! Winner winner chicken dinner! I didn't know that was possible. I think that will be the best option for what I am trying to accomplish. It gives me the existing route as a base from which I can delete what I don't need, rename remaining points ...
