Don't apologise, your quiz did exactly what you intended - made us think about it ;)

Re: The peculiar case of the disappearing tracks. XT & 595

The answer to the quiz: Vias 3 (Penrith, Start and End) Shaping Points 2 (Alston. and A686...) Waypoints 1 (Alston.) Favourites 1 (Alston.) Could you explain why you only class Alston as a waypoint and a favourite? My take would be that they are all waypoints so 5, and my experience is that Shaping ...

Re: Wacko traffic auto-recalc routing

The Software/Firmware is integral to the Hardware so as a whole it's a mess  It does feel that the latest software has introduced more problems than it attempted to fix - doesn't instil much confidence in Garmin or the unit. All the routes on my trip were rigorously pre-planned with Basecamp ...

Re: Wacko traffic auto-recalc routing

I've just come back from leading a small group through the Alps and Dolomites and I encountered this more than once. It sadly didn't have much comedy value at the time when we are pulled up at the side of the road trying to figure out what was going on  Combined with the XT trying to take us ...

Re: Speed Cameras

So, just had a poke around in Garmin Express - clicked on Tools & Content, then Purchased, and there's the option to download Cyclops Europe (I've not purchased this btw)

Downloaded it and now they are working again

Re: Speed Cameras

An update shouldn't affect cameras already loaded though. You can check if the files are there using Windows Explorer. If the files are there the update may have affected their display, if so try a master reset. Windows explorer would probably need a Windows PC I expect - Mac only for me :) Plus I ...

Re: Speed Cameras

Just been out for another test run and definitely getting no warnings or signs of the speed cameras, and being in West Yorkshire I don't have to go far to find rows and rows of cameras to try it on

Oh well, good old Garmin

Re: Speed Cameras

Yeah, that's what I thought. I think seeing them available to buy has spooked my pal when they seem not to be working. I have explained to him that there is every chance that Garmin have broken then with the update
