they do sell a sun shade for the GPS, but I have it mounted on my Dual sport bike and love that I can see the display when seated or standing, if I put a sun shade on, I won't be able to see the display when standing, so I don't want to do that.

Many thanks for the feedback, I mounted mine more vertically but also bought some perspex and heated it/folded it so it clips over the GPS unit, I will just clip it on when it rains and remove it when I need to use the touch screen, a little inconvenient, but the rest of the GPS works so well I won'...
