Order of Routes on the XT

I knew that this issue would have already been dealt with and after a long search, Peobody has provided the answer, It seems that keeping your planned routes in the order you planned them is really easy--- when you know how. All this in Basecamp before transferring. I tried the numbering system, I u...

Re: Planned distance not making sense

I know that this conversation happened in May, but, just for info, if you get outlandish mileages or odd routing ( like a molecular model) from a downloaded route, first resort go to trip planner and change vehicles, from motorcycle to car and then back, this will recalculate the route, as inexplica...

Re: XT not flagging closed roads

That would depend on how you constructed the route and if waypoints etc could be included in the recalculation, but you can of course always view
the route by touching the map screen, then by touching the icon with the waypoint/destination flags on the curvy road (upper left, sort of)

Re: XT not flagging closed roads

From the XT manual. Taking a Detour You can take a detour for a specified distance along your route or detour around specific roads. This is useful if you encounter construction zones, closed roads, or poor road conditions. From the map, select Menu > Edit Route. /(This means touch the three black d...

Re: XT not flagging closed roads

For me, the most important thing is what the XT does when you reach a closed road, as far as I am aware, you cannot tell the unit that the road is closed. The woeful diversion button, located deep within the menus acts as though you can fly, though in truth Garmin have never mastered this aspect of ...

Re: XT Stand

After I made this, I checked out 17mm balls on the net, (I made my own from nylon 66 bar) there are lots of them and they will fit straight into the XT car mount.

Re: XT Stand

Thank you, with the USB cables getting even shorter (latest version 50cm or 19 inches long) it's a job to stop the unit sliding off the desk, (no wifi in our house)

Factory reset not working

After agreeing a trade in trade up with Garmin, (due to maps not being authenticated) where a 30% reduction in cost was indicated, the e-mail arrived today and the saga continues. After finding out the the 30% was from the original recommended retail price for the XT, not the current price on the Ga...
