Re: Can't connect to the Garmin Servers or Garmin Express
I had this problem when I first bought my XT about 8 months ago, I thought great, what a waste of money. What I did was completely uninstall GE and then re-downloaded (is that a word) it, then it worked as it should. This worked for me.
BTW I use a Mac

Re: Is there a magic way of connecting the XT to my laptop?
please excuse my ignorance on this, but why does one need to see it as a volume, is GE just for updating etc. as I've written before, mine shows up on my Mac quicker than the dreaded NAV Vi ever did. ![✌️](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/270c.svg)

Re: Is there a magic way of connecting the XT to my laptop?
I've tried every combination of opening GE first, then plugging in the XT, plugging in the XT first, then opening GE, sneaking up on it when it's not looking etc etc. hi when I had a BMW NAV Vi, I also had a great deal of trouble trying to connect to my Mac. I do not have a windows pc, I now own an...

Re: Frustrating last hour of ride with XT
The alerting WP is after the coffee stop. It's name will contain the name of the coffee stop facility but at what point is that facility name visible? this will show on the trip data screen as your next stop, and whatever you have named it or whatever XT changed it to. Also, if I detour into a town...

Re: Frustrating last hour of ride with XT
to add to my above post, I usually do the same for the start of each trip. I usually put the first point around 1 mile from my actual location and make that a via point. when I then start this route when asked where to go first I always chose that first via point. if you are on a multi day trip, I a...

Re: Frustrating last hour of ride with XT
They don't appear as stops in any of the ways the I know of to look into how far away coffee or lunch is. once you have planned the route, 1. change all points to shaping points within that planned route, (not alert on arrival) 2. then all the points 1m after your scheduled stops, change them to an...

Re: Frustrating last hour of ride with XT
Once in the route, I set most of the points to be Shaping points, including my stopping places. I also make an additional Waypoint just after the stopping place. This is set as a Via Point and it is placed a mile or so down the road that I will take whether or not I decide to sto for coffee. I am a...

Re: Route planning frustrations!
you may now think you no longer have all the answers but you are mistaken, you are still very knowledgeable, and I for one use your findings a lot, and the other guys on here. I like you am happy for the XT to take me to point X by the fastest route, however most of the time I use it for routes that...
