Re: Recalculating Custom Routes, Yes or No?

My first test last night was a success. And an easy option. Construct my two test routes with Google MyMaps Export the routes as KML files Drag and drop the KML files into Basecamp Convert the resulting tracks to routes with Basecamp, and review for accuracy Upload both the track and the route to th...

Re: Recalculating Custom Routes, Yes or No?

Interesting stuff to ponder. Thanks. There's also the settingin Basecamp in Edit - Options - Device transfer. Make sure that they are all unticked. I checked my Basecamp Device Transfer Options, and the only item still ticked on is: Always match route to the map on my device when transferring. I'll ...

Re: Zumo 660 How to Delete Routes and Tracks

Does the 660 have a 'share' facility in the favourites area ? That might be a way of keeping them. There's no "share" that I can find. I'm just going to copy the files to my computer before I delete them and not worry about it if something gets lost. Most of the favorites are campgrounds,...

Re: Recalculating Custom Routes, Yes or No?

I'm sure I read somewhere that Zumo 660s and Basecamp don't 'like' each other (perhaps a Garmin Notification). I've never heard that, but it's as good an explanation as any other. ;) I don't like Basecamp so use Mapsource without any problems on my 660. I still have Mapsource on my Windows Computer...

Recalculating Custom Routes, Yes or No?

When I load a custom route into my GPS from Basecamp, I'm often promted to recalculate when I bring it up on the device. Not sure why, since both Basecamp and the device have the same matching up-to-date maps. Related: If I draw up a custom route on Google (My)Maps or some other routing program, I c...

Are these the favorites I don't want to delete?
Or are those favorites in a different file?

Re: Zumo 660 How to Delete Routes and Tracks

I have an additional question...just trying to be careful here. On the Internal Memory on my device... In the GPX folder I find 2 files, One named "Current.gpx" and one named "temp.gpx" I also have another folder named "Archive", which contains a quantity of numbered gp...

Zumo 660 How to Delete Routes and Tracks

I'd like to delete all the custom routes and tracks that's collected in my Zumo 660 over the years. If I delete them in my device, they show up again when I hook up to my computer. I know I have to delete them from the files on my computer, but I just want to make sure that I do it right and deletin...
