tried it with a USB C to USB A adapter.. and had the same results..
I did manage to make a little bit of a breakthrough but it's still janky AF.. sadly.

Re: Gaia GPS --> Zumo XT (problems)
Since that episode I'm not having any problems at all. It's quick to transfer and import now, no errors and no freezes. Bizarrely I've managed something of a breakthrough with mine too.. I've managed to get one of my routes to actually load on it.. it's not sticking to every road, but it is showing ...

Re: Gaia GPS --> Zumo XT (problems)
I went through this the other day- transferred routes from Base Camp to my new XT SD card. Importing was laborious at best. Sometimes it locked up at 0%, sometimes something other than 100%, but it always locked up. I canceled the import on the XT then USING A LONG PRESS OF THE POWER BUTTON, I shut ...

Re: Gaia GPS --> Zumo XT (problems)
Well, I just tried to get basecamp to create a route of 180 days long which is with a starting and ending point that's 283 km apart... and it took me straight up a motorway, all the way to another capital city, then back down the motorway, for 5 days..

Re: Is Basecamp really as crap as it seems?
Well whatever is happening it's an issue with your system somewhere as most folks don't have the problem you're having. You could try posting on the Garmin forums or call their Product Support so they can look at your system in detail. TBH, unless I can find something that actually works properly ...

Re: Is Basecamp really as crap as it seems?
I don't know as I would consider a Microsoft Surface a suitable device to run basecamp..... What I have read about them is that they are more of a tablet, than a computer, even with a keyboard connected. As far as the compatibility of .gpx files, there could be something hidden in the file from the ...

Re: Gaia GPS --> Zumo XT (problems)
Ok, that's weird.. I didn't realise that they had a length or complexity limit.. my first leg of my journey is covering about a week/two of riding.. and it goes through all sorts of places.. 3,265 km long. So as far as length and complexity limits though, I can grab the garmin right now and plot a ...

Re: Is Basecamp really as crap as it seems?
Something is wrong in your system then as BaseCamp rarely crashes for me and I've been using it for over 10 years on various Windows OS. First thing I'd try is an uninstall then reinstall. Note too if you have gpx files in the correct format you can simply place them in the GPX folder on your Zumo ...

Is Basecamp really as crap as it seems?
Hey folks, So I'm running Basecamp on a top of the line Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio computer and literally every time I try to do something, it crashes.. like every. single. time. Is there any other software that will allow me to put my gpx files on to my XT? because at the current point in time ...

Gaia GPS --> Zumo XT (problems)
G'day all, So I've been creating a massive route for my motorcycle journey around Australia which I'm currently part way through (which is all on my YouTube channel).. However, I created a massive series of routes (4 of them) which cover a total of 25,000 km using Gaia GPS.. and I've saved the GPX ...
