Re: Zumo XT voice instruction at roundabout
Adding to the confusion, of both humans and GPS units, is the chaos formerly known (here in Massachusetts) as "rotaries." Those of us who grew up with them learned, either by actually looking at the law or figuring it out by observing, that the right way to negotiate a rotary was to enter at the ...

Re: IOS vs Windows prepared routes
Having used BC in both PC and Mac in the past, the only difference I ever saw (and it may be old news if Windows graphics have improved since then) was in how the maps display, with a smoother, more colorful look on the Macs. There were also small differences in which tools were available and which ...

Re: Zumo XT voice instruction at roundabout
EDIT: found my previous post https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2822 Can't find my old post just now, but I had a somewhat similar snafu at a roundabout near my home. The XT would try to send me all the way around and take a different exit. No one-way involved, but I concluded that it ...

Re: Damaged Electrical Connector
My opinion is that the contacts on your XT are not repairable, but they can be cleaned and protected. The product I mentioned before, Deoxit, is used by pros in the music biz to keep contacts in mixing consoles clean and noise-free, because editing noise out of a mix costs lots of time and money. I ...

Re: Damaged Electrical Connector
It sounds to me like what happened is one of the contact pins in your mount got "tired" and made intermittent contact with the XT. That arcing produced the black spot. So my advice, if I've guessed the problem correctly, is to first make sure the corresponding pin on your mount moves freely and is ...

Re: Interference / Fault / Something Else??
This may be helpful. Garmin does not reveal which protocols are in use for its various pairing options, but their names provide clues...

Re: Update 2026.1 P.I.A.
Check in Applications to see if there are two copies of Express. It is possible that the icon in your dock is launching the old one.

Re: Update 2026.1 P.I.A.
PS: I just found a list of system requirements for Express. Even older Mac OS versions call for a 7-series version:

Re: Update 2026.1 P.I.A.
As I gain understanding of your situation, more questions. Sorry to keep hitting you with them, but such is the nature of diagnosis from way out in the cheap seats. Why is Express claiming version 6 is up to date? Is your Macbook really old? What model is it and what version of Mac OS are you ...

Re: Update 2026.1 P.I.A.
I'm still a little confused about what exact steps you are taking, so let me try to briefly summarize what SHOULD work... Express for Mac is now at version 7.25.0.0. Is that the one you have? Quit ALL programs, especially Basecamp, and connect your XT. Wait for it to go into Connect mode, which can ...
