Re: How Do I Determine When My Garmin Zumo Battery Needs To Be Replaced?
Temperature affects battery =capacity= not life. Life is determined by how many charge cycles the battery experiences. A cycle is the =equivalent= of one full discharge to the safety shutoff point and one full charge. A cycle is not equal to how many times you discharge/charge a partial amount. IOW ...

Re: My first encounter with phantom road closures
Does that mean it leaves a trace of the original route for you to follow ?? That is an interesting question. That black line is thin and appears to be bordered by a faded magenta. I wonder if anyone who shows a track on the map in black would see it. I normally do, and I have never seen it. The ...

Re: My first encounter with phantom road closures
Nope, no tracks displayed. I once saw similar bogus closure on I-84 in CT, and it also showed a black line beyond the closure. But unlike my Boston fiasco, ignoring the closure did not affect the route or cause a recalc request.

Re: My first encounter with phantom road closures
Peobody, I see two perhaps separate issues, one of which I think is exactly what you describe. First is the bogus closure symbol. That may not be due to complexity, though I suppose one of the lower-level roads in that mess might be closed, though I have no evidence of same. Second is the ...

Re: My first encounter with phantom road closures
Good move. My turn. Notice how the route beyond the closure symbol has turned black. WTF?

Re: My first encounter with phantom road closures
Here is how Google portrays the crazy interchanges just north of where the XT insists the road is closed. I wonder if the complexity contributes to the problem?

My first encounter with phantom road closures
Last night I had my first encounters with phantom road closures really messing up a route. In the cage, headed to Boston from Cape Cod to attend dinner and a show. I let the XT plan the route, whose destination was the Boston Common Parking Garage at zero Charles St. First off, neither Google nor ...

Re: Battery Life when switched off
A lot of battery problems with the XT are due to this somewhat clumsy method of shutting it down. Li-ion batteries do not like to sit fully discharged for long periods, so the worst outcome has been when the XT is put in standby and not used for weeks/months. The battery runs down and can be damaged ...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
...There's a recent update, and I haven't installed them yet, but I can do. On the off chance you haven't run across this, some folks are reporting that the latest update and Express will not allow installing the new map to your computer at the same time as to your GPS. I first installed only to my ...

Re: Traffic providers?
In the U.S. it works via the Drive app and therefore the “compatible accessory” is the phone. I don’t think the XT works with any other traffic receiver.
