Re: Big Picture
With a route active, tap the green bar at the top of the screen. Tap the folded map icon top left. -dan In my office, this worked so I thank you very much. We are snowed in so I have not had a chance to use your suggestion after I start traveling the route. I wonder if the screen will go back to ...

Big Picture
Terms I'm making up for the sake of asking a coherent question. Big picture and little picture. Mounted on my handlebar is a smartphone using the app GPX Viewer Pro. I use it to display the big picture, meaning, the entire route including a marker for my current position. The marker moves as I move ...

Re: Difference Between Shaping Points, Via Points, and Waypoints
JFHEATH and PEABODY,
Thank you both very much for your valuable feedback. I have added all or your points (play on words) to my Zumo notes.
Cheers,
Keith

Difference Between Shaping Points, Via Points, and Waypoints
I asked Artificial Intelligence what was the difference between these three points and this link is the answer. Anyone disagree or have anything to add? https://g.co/gemini/share/166d3ae2255a Here's the breakdown of via points, shaping points, and waypoints on your Garmin GPS: Waypoint: A general ...

Re: Cannot Calculate Route
Thank you very much for the feedback and route with fewer points. 13 points vs. 200 would sure save me a lot of time. Thanks again.

Re: Cannot Calculate Route
Everyone on this forum has been very helpful and all of them are trying to save me some work by using fewer points (I'm using the word "points" to remain generic). I've been working with Zumos for five years and always with an average of 200 points per route only because that is how I was taught ...

Re: Cannot Calculate Route
Never mind. I reduced via points by another ~50 and that resolved the matter.
I thank you in advance.

Re: Cannot Calculate Route
Dan, Thank you very much for your feedback. I really appreciate the help. If you are willing to look at the route in question then I have attached it, but before you spend too much time on it let me add that I have seen this "cannot calculate route" enough times before. I have seen it so often that ...

Re: Cannot Calculate Route
I understand. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I understand the potential. One time I had a route with too many points and it gave me the same error message (cannot calculate route). My one-off solution wasn't much better--I used the BC operation "divide."

Re: Cannot Calculate Route
When I read 'an inverted route' and '251 via-points' it could be that one or more are on the wrong lane of a highway. (in the opposite direction) Or maybe on a one-way road, or roundabaout on the wrong side. Edit: Come to think of it. There cant be 251 via-points. The majority must be shaping ...
