Tried updating again, and this time I get the Basecamp map update, but can't unlock it. Looking at unlock / manage map elements, or whatever the option is, all I get shown is a long list of ...not installed...map segments, so no select options. Is this another Garmin 'glitch' that I need to wait for ...

Zumo 660 UK & Europe, lifetime updates. Selected UK and Ireland, and install to device & computer. 660 is updated to 2021.2, but "an error occurred...." and Basecamp is still on 2021.1. Thanks for the reply. I've tried redirecting the maps already, but there are no maps being downloaded. All Express seems to download is a (150Mb or so, if I recall) small .cab1 file in the 'coreservice' folder instead of the temp map files of 7Gb or so. On my Win 7 laptop, I've just uninstalled express 6.15.0 and reinstalled an older version (6.3.0) unfortunately, on startup, express wanted to update to 6.15.0 and wouldn't let me continue without doing. Needless to say, the result was the same, no maps on computer. It was worth a try though, and ...

That actually makes me feel better.

Maybe I'll leave it for a few days then, it's worked in the past with updating issues on first release.
If I NEED a route, it should work with the 660 plugged in, but it's not ideal.
