Re: XT vs XT2
The Xt2 may look very similar, and is made by Garmin, but it introduces some new way of doing things, especially with routes / tracks / waypoints that I found initially confusing, especially as the instruction manuals are anything but. The XT2 has improvements, especially the bugs are much better on...

Re: Poll : Curious about the Zumo XT2 ? Read on....
I have also come to the conclusion that shaping points are a hindrance, and even if you use a way / via point that is already in the XT2 that Tread will amend it's position if you designate it as a shaping point in BC. My guess is that Tread uses the similar faster roads faulty algorithm that the XT...

You can, it might be in the Tread set up going from this thread. I know on my XT2 it doesn't show:

Re: How do you shape a route that is made on the ZUMO XT2 using its Route Planner function.?
I'm very wary of planning a route in the XT2 as the faster roads problem skews the routing into illogical routes. When I do use it, for example out on a days ride and decide to go straight back home, I know that almost certainly I'll have to insert a previously generated way / via point into the XT2...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
I've also noted that shaping points that were originally created as Waypoints, get seaparated from the waypoint. A new shaping point is created in a different location, and the waypoint is left on the map, but not forming any part of the route. I've only tried a limited test from Basecamp to the XT...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
Double checked the phone's Explore app, and it's only synced to my Garmin watch. Will load some routes with shaping points and see what happens! Edit, Created a route in Basecamp, converted it into a track, there, and then sent both to the XT2 by cable. Both loaded on the XT2 and showing in the Trea...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
I don't think that I've seen some of the problems, might it be that my XT2 is only seen in the phone Tread and not the phones "explore" app?

Re: Upgrade from 595 to XT2?
But then I hit what I consider to be a big problem. The Tread App on the phone changes the route when it receives it - typically leaving the Via points alone, but often (so far) ignoring the shaping points and plotting its own route - and then putting in shaping points to keep the changed route in ...

Re: Newbie alert! Help with route fault find please.
I don't use Tread to work out routes for my XT2, but if I do plan a route, usually when I'm a few miles from home and want to go there, ignoring a previously planned route, then this can have the faster vs fastest problem routing querk. That is, the XT2 chooses faster roads over the route that would...

Re: Transfer of Garmin Maps into Basecamp + Another Question
Yes. I bought the N American maps from Garmin as a download onto an SD Card I installed in my XT. I plot all my tours in Basecamp and you are telling me that I can't load the map into Basecamp. For me that renders the map Useless. There is no way on this earth I want to plot a tour on the XT itself...
