590 and 595 use the NTU maps, i.e. still current:

Re: What colors do you use for routes?

In Basecamp if you right click on the routes name, then it opens up the routes information box, where you can designate the activity and colour of the route. Magenta is the default colour.

Re: Is this RUT?

@jfheath Thanks much for this. For me, I guess the issue is your advice to "Put your start point in a location that you will pass through after you have started moving. The Zumo will take you to it." In this latest test run, I believed that I did exactly that. Logically, it should have wo...

Re: Is this RUT?

My test was really disappointing. I intend to post the results, but it wasn't my previous experience - which on a normal ride it 'eventually' gave in and navigated ahead. All the time, what it was suggesting I could make sense of - although it wasn't as good as the 'fixed' imported XT route. Could ...

Re: Is this RUT?

Just bought an XT2 and this morning tried it on a route that the XT always went into a RUT if it wasn't "saved" etc. Basically home to a via / way-point (ie announced) to work. Planned in Basecamp, transferred to a SD card, and then imported. Activated by starting it from the "routes ...

Satellite jamming / spoofing etc

Hope this is in the best place.

Re: Does my Zumo XT have to be plugged in to plan routes?

Are you using Topo maps because you're riding off "normal" roads? City Navigator maps for "normal" roads can be downloaded to the PC and then used by Basecamp, which makes things quicker. But, you need to make sure that the XT's and PC's maps are the same version, otherwise you'l...

Re: Which GPS To Buy Now

I'm also considering a Zumo 595 for some upcoming travel. It sounds like it would still work great with my existing GPX files for route planning. Battery life is my main concern if I'll be using it for navigation each day in South Korea https://gowithguide.com/korea Do you think a 595 would be suff...

Re: Had unexpected fun with RUT today.

This week I have been following XT2 routes. I deviated twice - I don't know why - but it didn't miss a beat. I can't tell you how nice that was. But that isn't a recommendation - I wasn't trying to get it to go wrong, and the route was carefully planned. Never the less it was relaxing not having to...

If I remember correctly, then speed camera warnings will be announced (only once as you won't be above the limit) if you ride a simulated route, which might be easier, though less fun, than being out on the bike to test the results.
