Thanks for the link. My sd card is 8mb.
It still looks like the map set was imported into the hard drive of the gps unit, not the sd card.
I read through the link you provided.

Cleaning out internal memory on 590 & loading maps on sd card
As I was updating the maps on my unit, Garmin express said my internal memory was full. So elected to put the maps in the sd card. After having done so (or thinking that I had done so), I plug the unit back into the pc. BaseCamp shows TWO (City Nav North America 2024.1) map files on the 590 in the i...

Okay. That makes complete sense.
I was overthinking it.

Re: Managing Databases
I figured out what my problem was. My first problem was that I had two older BaseCamp versions running. The second problem was that when I was naming my own file to link to the database I created, I didn’t name them the same and it was linking to an older database name. The short of the story is tha...

How to use a 590 (from the USA), when traveling in Europe -question
My husband and I will be traveling in Europe. We have two 590’s. One will be used as a backup in case the other gps dies (or whatever). I have purchased sm cards of the EU maps. I have done all my planning of routes in BaseCamp. When the time comes to import all the routes, where do I load them? Do ...

Managing Databases
I am having problems managing my databases. I wonder if someone could lead me to a tutorial or where I could find this info. I do know where the databases are located. I also see that they are always called the same name. I try to be careful in my organization and create different folders, but I rea...

Re: Question about next destination starting point?
^^^ all of this, is precisely why I create tracks (from my routes) and sandwich them under the route while I travel. It is then very, very easy to see whether the route has mysteriously recalculated.

Re: InReach Mini 2 Paired with Zumo XT - What Plan?
I got the safety plan because (as I recall), the Freedom Plan wasn’t as free as I thought. I believe you can cancel and resubscribe but not inside a 30 day time frame. I bring my mini on bicycle rides, hikes, and motorcycle rides and I never know when I am going to spontaneously go somewhere. The un...

Re: Music playback shuttering/choppy?
I thought that GARMIN just recently had a BaseCamp update. I didn’t do the update because I just left on a trip. Anyway it said that the update was supposed to fix issues with (and I can’t quite recall) bt connectivity….something like that.
