Re: Ferries: Does anyone have any experience?

On ferries; DON'T use center stand. The triangular points (angle) are way too narrow between the 2 pegs of the center stand and front wheel, whereas between front/rear wheel and side stand is much much wider. Also, don't tie down over saddle. Use the rear frame ("back swing", is it called that ...

Re: getting osm maps onto XT

If you have it successfully installed in BC and can see it and "use" it BC, it is correctly installed on your computer. I don't own a mac, so I don't know the transfer protocols. Though, if you successfully get to connect your XT and BC can see it, it should also be able to transfer the maps into ...

Re: Connecting the Zumo to a Mac is still a royal pain

I don't own a Mac or any other Apple product (and i intend to stay that way). Can you not do the following? Export or "backup" your tracks to SD within the XT and then remove the SD from the XT and insert into a card reader (or internal card reader) to copy over the track files directly? A Zumo ...

Re: Next action/turn distance is not showing

Hmmm - the one and only reason for me using a via point is on a long (>300km) tour with my wife, because her fuel tank is smaller than mine and so i pick a gas station around after 270-280km and set a via point 100m in front of it on the street, so to not get troubles with less fuel. Is there ...

Re: Where I've Been app

Just teasing about the upside down pictures. I don't know why that happened. @wolfman, Don't feel like you did anything incorrectly that resulted in the 180° rotation. I have had pictures displayed with a 90° rotation. I couldn't figure it why so asked about it in the forum help. @Stu responded t ...

Re: GPS Tracker (so the missus knows where I am)

https://locatoweb.com/en It's a Norwegian tracking service. You don't even have to log in to make trakcs, and it's free. The paid version (registering and login, of course) is US$15 a year, gives you the option to "personalized user page" and to store 100 tracks. There's also a lower fee for a ...

Hello from Norway/Latvia

Hello. I'm Norwegian, living in Latvia. I own a Zümo XT and 2 motorcycles, a Yamaha FJR1300A and a Kawasaki Versys-X 300. I use both for longer trips, though the Versys-X is mostly for trips where the majority of roads are gravel. Been riding for 30 years and used MC navigation only the last 5 years, ...
