How do you shape a route that is made on the ZUMO XT2 using its Route Planner function.?
For the time being, I've completely given up trying to get BaseCamp and other 3rd party planning software to work as intended on the XT2. I've now decided to firstly create the route on Google Maps, and then using the "Route Planner", on the XT2 I then manually add all the stops in that I want to ...

Re: Tread Changes Exisiting Routes - Shaping Point Issues
smfollen Thanks for taking the time to really put the Tread App to the test. Excellent "I.R.L" explanation. Once again, the "Tread App" appears to be about as useful, as tits on a bull ! I think I might just instead, start calling the Tread App ... The Dead-Tread-App ;)

Re: Poll: Route Planning with Tread
I'd be more than happy to use the Tread App, if Garmin would just develop a large screen PC route planning program that could then enable planed routes to be exported to the tread app and then to the XT2. ( better still ... direct to the XT2 !) Being "forced" by Garmin software engineers to plan a ...

Re: Is this RUT?
The Via Point caption at the head of the route list, sadly, is another Garmin 'feature'. That heading is there no matter what type of point you create, so don't be misled by that. It ought to say something more generic at the head of that list - like 'Route Point' Yes mate, a more logical label ...

Re: Is this RUT?
Sorry this latest post of mine is out of sequence. I didn't realise that another reply had been posted before I submitted this post (Mabey someone a lot smarter than me can get this back into proper sequence) Anyways ... Thanks for the feedback on my above post everyone! I'm definitely pretty new ...

Re: Is this RUT?
jfheath Unfortunately, just making a copy of the original imported GPX route file, from BaseCamp and then using the Zumo XT2 "Copy" function, (giving the copied GPX file a new name), didn't work for me. I still ended up running into dam RUT problems. The first screen shot shows how I planned ...

Re: Is this RUT?
It helps if before you go out on a test - know where you are going to deviate. And find out where the tipping point is. Where it is faster to continue ahead than it is to go back. Because it is only when you have gone past the tipping point and the Zumo is still asking you to go back, can you say ...

Re: Is this RUT?
The Zumo has a flag that lets it know whether a route has been created and saved on the Zumo or whether it has been imported. For the XT1, we had a method to change that flag - and it cured the problem. The same method works on the XT2. Thanks, Jf for helping all of us "newbies" to get our head ...

Re: Is this RUT?
This afternoon on the way home from work I rode the exact same route as I have previously mentioned, BUT this time I made sure to make a COPY of the route I wanted to test for RUT behavior and selected the "Copy" of the route before pressing GO. With the "copy" route running, the XT2 was then ...
