Re: XT Routing problems

Thank you for that, jfHeath, you are the font of all knowledge. The “Direction” will certainly help. In your image it shows the time of arrival at the destination and then also shows a time at the bottom. Is that then the current time? Mine was always showing the time of arrival. (Boy, have I got a l ...

Re: XT Routing problems

Thank you again for all your advice. I really should have read your in-depth instructions, jfHeath, before I started planning the trip. I’m sure it would’ve made things far, far easier. All in all my trip was a disaster with atrocious weather, long days, especially the one when I went back on myself, ...

Re: XT Routing problems

It was ‘colirv’ who gave the suggestion about re-calculation. Thank you so much for that!

Re: XT Routing problems

That is how I first started trying to create routes, some of them up to 300 miles long, through the starting town, changing various motorways (freeways) along the route and then into end town. The magenta line that was created went all over the place, 40 miles off and then back again, and literally ...

Re: XT Routing problems

After another 6 hours I’ve finally done it. I tried the multiple Waypoints advice (which created a route like all the veins and arteries in a body), reduced the number of Waypoints, lots of Alt dragging, My Google Maps and eventually downloaded Basecamp onto another computer and installed the 2025 m ...

Re: XT Routing problems

In the U.S., we call them rotaries rather than roundabouts, but we certainly have them. Basecamp generally handles them just fine. When I started to read your post, I was thinking you had clicked the wrong side of the road, but you have already addressed that. Sorry, I don't know why what you ...

Re: XT Routing problems

Good thinking, I’ll back them up elsewhere with slightly different names. Sometimes when creating a route and clicking along a road and I click maybe a mile along it will suddenly create a magenta line miles away to a roundabout, back on itself way past where I clicked, up to a roundabout miles b ...

Re: XT Routing problems

I’ve found though that Basecamp does not like roundabouts, of which there are 100,000s in Europe, one little bit, possibly because the developers don’t have many in USA.
