Thank you ONJohn.
“especially a petrol station or viewpoint, and if there is, I make it into my own waypoint”
but you would need to make sure this Waypoint is moved to the centre of the magenta route, if not already, would you not?

Re: Route points: Some non-alerting, some alerting
That is interesting Colirv. I did not know that.
One of my forum learnings is to place route points on the desired outbound leg of an intersection, and generally not at the junction, so I take that approach. I hope I have that correct, I understand the reasoning behind it.
Thank you.

Re: Route points: Some non-alerting, some alerting
I placed the Route points on the magenta route in ‘wide open road’ nothing nearby that I could see, so I am curious as to why there are non-alerting and alertings (???).

Route points: Some non-alerting, some alerting
Having created a route by placing START and END points, I then proceed to place Route points along the Route. I have been doing this with the Insert tool. Question: Why is it that some of the Route points show in the Dialogue box as Arrive/alerting, and others as Non-alerting? I did not specify each ...

Re: Route transfer to XT - how many?
Thank you Zumo friends for your practical replies above. Transfer and storage of routes from BC to XT is part of the whole trip planning process that I need to practice and improve upon. An orderly approach is important for me, particularly when standing astride a motorcycle on the side of a busy ...

Route transfer to XT - how many?
Hello all, I have been transferring my BC created routes for trial on the XY (day trips) and I have quite a few. I have removed some because the XT was starting to look a bit cluttered. This made me wonder how many lists, routes etc, experienced Zumers store in their GPS's (XT, 390 etal...), and ...

Re: Elementary Basecamp question.
My takeaway from the Peobody and jfh posts above is;
an abundance of well place shaping points is a solid defence against unintended route modification by the XT.
Thanks, Mikey.

Re: Elementary Basecamp question.
Thank you Peobody and jfheath for your posts above. It is quite remarkable; the measures trip preparers have to take to minimise unwanted 'control' by the XT - XT, the 'ultimate authority'! Thankfully, it appears that with knowledge of special 'tricks', trips can be prepared that are mostly ...

Elementary Basecamp question.
Hello all, An elementary BC question has been in my mind for some time, so I have decided to expose it and find the answer. Scenario: - I create a new two-point route in BC with just START and END, no Vias or Shapers between, a magenta route appears on the map. - The magenta route is the route I ...
