It was completely dead, so could not backup anything. I did have some things on an SD card(can't recall what exactly) and have all my waypoints saved on my computer.I did remove the sd card before sending away.

Chris got back to me this morning: "Unfortunately the problem was not the power chip but the flash memory chip which is much more involved and none of your trips/favorites will be able to be saved. Emailed this (Saturday) morning and Chris replied in less than an hour.
He seems confident it can be repaired but can't give an estimate until he sees the unit.
I'm putting it in the mail today.I will let you know how it goes.

After sitting idle for four months in the motorcycle mount on my Goldwing(indoors and with a cover on the bike) my 660LM will not power up.
