Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
I hope I can remember half the stuff you've figured out. Suffice to say it is important to check that route points are accurately placed on roads, and on the correct side of the road . This is a mistake I've made more than once and now I check my point locations and turn-by-turn directions to ensure ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
It's hard for me to tell. How material is that?

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
My BaseCamp and Zumo maps are always synched, so that's a good thing. As a separate issue, I found that the MRA map (OpenStreetMap for the basic subscription) routed me differently in one location because it was erroneously shown to have both a railroad crossing and an extra lift gate barrier. This ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
It only recently dawned on me that this was the case. Thanks for providing hard data regarding the positioning of shaping points on different map sets!

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
Agree. But they can cause Via/Shaping point to be 'off the road'. That was how my comment was meant. Despite how precise I tried to be when creating the route on the iPad I found some of the shaping points "off the road" after looking at that route in BaseCamp. I wonder if the HERE map available ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
I love this stuff but I can see why some users get frustrated with the technical nuances of BaseCamp and the Zumo XT. As a rule, I generate my routes and tracks in BaseCamp, send them to the Zumo's SD card, and import them myself. I also use the JaVaWa tool (TripManager next time). This all a result ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
Hi Frank. Thanks for working with me on this. Some comments... I did however see some points placed at locations that I would not appreciate. I think it was because I located the shaping points using MRA and the iPad. When I looked at the route in Basecamp I also found that several were misplaced ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
If you add another point after the previous end, MRA seems to change the previous last point back to what it was. This seems to be true although I don't understand the rationale. I had made a route from California to Oregon on the iPad when I first subscribed to MRA Basic. I just added another ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
Perhaps I can try recreating the route with the same number of points in the approximate same locations and see what happens, along the lines of @FrankB's suggestion. Maybe my method the first time contained some error. Same story. Shows as a shaping point in the preview of route points but as a ...

Re: Odd MRA treatment of last shaping point
It could be my own brain fog but I'm pretty confident this was always a 36 point route. What's odd is that when loaded to the Zumo from MRA it shows point 35 as a flag. However, when I saved it as gpx 1.1, imported it to BaseCamp, and then transferred it from there to the Zumo it shows as a shaping ...
