Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
FrankB and Peobody I think our battery figures are similar enough to assume mine is fine, too. It's been off the bike for a few days and operated without charging for a bit, as well. I looked at the Shutdown Causes but I think it would take Garmin's technical staff to understand if they relate to m...

Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
There are ways to get more info from the state of the battery, 1) From the developer menu. app.php/ZXT-P84 Interesting, but I'm not sure how to draw any conclusions not knowing the meaning of all this data. The battery screen figures seem to be OK in my judgment and in all other respects it seems t...

Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
My Xt is not wired directly to the battery, but on the ignition. So if I turn off the bike, the XT also goes into standby, When I turn on the bike again, the zumo restarts and an active route is resumed. Is that also your setup? This is my setup, too. The battery appears to accept and hold a charge...

Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
I guess I should be grateful but I'm deep into the Garmin ecosystem (two watches, inReach Messenger, Zumo, Basecamp) and I just expect (unreasonably?) this stuff to work. That said, it did spend a few hours in a black top box in 100F sunshine before all this started. Hopefully, I didn't damage it. N...

Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
Thanks FrankB . I could have been clearer. All of these restarts happened after stopping for a break or fuel, never while underway. The Zumo would appear to go into standby when the bike was turned off. When power returned upon starting the bike I'd find it at the home screen. There were many stops ...

Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
Thanks again. I did try that but the route was gone and had to be restarted every time. Hopefully, clearing the Archive folder had some benefit.

Re: Unexpected reboot and required route restart
Just to clarify, on restarting I would expect the Zumo to continue following the route where it left off. Is the problem that it didn't, and you had to restart the route yourself? Thanks, and yes, that is correct. One time I witnessed it rebooting and the others, not sure, I must have been paying a...

Unexpected reboot and required route restart
I just finished a week-long trip and had a first-ever problem surface. Three or four times over the course of the trip I found the Zumo XT restarting after returning from standby mode (switched power from BMW Nav circuit) and, of course, I had to restart the route. Garmin technical support suggested...

Convert Streets and Trips file to track before recalculating?
A friend who plans one of our annual trips is a staunch MS Streets and Trips user (2013 version!). He loads these into an older Garmin Drive navigator for his bike. I end up converting his exports through GPS Babel and then importing into Basecamp for a sanity check and to use in my own Zumo XT. As ...

Re: setting route preferences inside each planned trip
I have observed that if I travel at 50mph on a 60mph road, it will adjust my ETA - seemingly as though it assumes that I will travel at 50mph on 60mph roads all the way to my destination. This makes sense to me. I think my BMW does the same thing with fuel Range-to-Empty using some average consumpt...
