Re: Tracks difficult to see
Why are you using a track instead of a route from a site called plotaroute  ? I ask not to sound dickish but to recommend this thread -> https://www.zumouserforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=178. It's for changing route themes- the colors, line widths, etc. on the 595. From what I learned in ...

Re: Montana 650 behaviour vs Zumo 595
What I'm trying to understand is why recalculation should operate on a track at all. It should only be routes where recalculation functions.

Montana 650 behaviour vs Zumo 595
When I import a track into my Montana, I get a nice pink line on my map, and whether I follow it or not, the Montana doesn't care, it's up to me to follow it, or not. It doesn't care that it originated from an underlying Google or OSM map, it is just a line. I love it. Nice and simple. But on the ...

Tracks difficult to see
I import GPX tracks that I create on Plotaroute.com on to a Zumo 595. The problem is that they are very hard to see, being so thin. Whilst using a route, the pink line is probably 4mm wide, but tracks are barely 1 or 2mm, often with a fine black line either side it appears, making it very difficult ...

Re: anything special about SD cards in Garmin Zumos?
Sorry - I meant by 'placing files' to literally copy files from one card to another, using windows or command line/DOS.

Re: anything special about SD cards in Garmin Zumos?
MapInstall I can do. Would Basecamp do it, as I already have that for my Montana? It clearly recognises the Zumo okay.
And is there any reason why I can't just place the files on the SD card, assuming I get it to a readable situation? Or would the Zumo fail to see it?

Re: anything special about SD cards in Garmin Zumos?
I got an answer on a another GPS forum. Turns out as shipped, the Zumo 550 didn't support SDHC SD cards of any size, and it wasn't rectified until Revision 3.00 I will contact my friend to find out what firmware revision he is on, but knowing his literacy level, it's never been touched since it came ...

anything special about SD cards in Garmin Zumos?
I have been trying to transfer the files off a 2Gb SD card in my Garmin Zumo 550 onto a 4GB SD card, that has been formatted and has identical files so that I can later add some updated maps in the extra space it has. But.... Although the Zumo acknowledges that the card is there, it fails to read ...
