Re: Zumo 595 Review after first serious use
Just for grins, here is one error-filled tracklog from the 595 (in red) overlayed on five previous tracklogs from a Zumo 660 (in yellow) of the same stretch of road: http://adlowe.net/motorcycle/images/Zumo595_error_Cherohala.jpg Along with another error-filled tracklog from the 595 (in red ...

Re: Zumo 595 Review after first serious use
Addendum: Inaccurate locating Encountered another instance of the Zumo 595 calculating an incorrect position. Another rider in the group has a 595; he encountered the same inaccurate locating on the same stretch of road. Powering down my 595 *seemed* to correct the problem. It calculated correct ...

Zumo 595 Review after first serious use
Assessment (1 week / 1,900 miles) based on comparison to Garmin Zumo 660 in use for a decade. POSITIVES • Integrated with Basecamp Routes developed in Basecamp transfer and import without discernable changes. Note: Zumo 595 switches out of motorcycle mode on routes built under other activity p ...

Re: Routes and Waypoints
Experimenting is done. Hope I can explain clearly. Basic/background data: o Zumo 595 o firmware = 4.60 o mapset = Full coverage of North America 2020.10 o 38 local favorites/waypoints were previously sent from Basecamp to internal storage o 12 routes and 15 favorites/waypoints for an upcoming trip ...

Re: Routes and Waypoints
If they're not appearing just select them along with the route and send the lot to your zumo. Did that. Didn't work. 595 is next to my PC right now. I'll be firing up Basecamp and trying it again. What you recommend, btw, works just fine on a Zumo 660. But saved locations works differently on that ...

Re: Routes and Waypoints
I suspect the problem here is nomenclature so when someone says this transfers others think well not for me :) Garmin uses a mixture of names, as do users, but the normally accepted way is that a basic route consists of a start and finish. Users can add to that additional points; shaping points ...

Re: Routes and Waypoints
You may be correct. I have noticed that (using BaseCamp) creating a waypoint and using that waypoint in a route and NOT transferring that point independently to the device does NOT create a Favorite (or Saved Place). Sometimes. Sometimes it does. Transferring the waypoint in addition to the route ...

Re: Routes and Waypoints
Seems to me that there is a bit of confusion here. rbentnail's idea of swapping in SD cards for trips is a good one. But when he says "waypoints" it seems that he means the waypoints that make up the routes. They are part of the routes and come into the 595 when the routes are imported. "Waypoints ...
