Re: Map update

Just an update on this situation. I tried three computers, including a round trip of 60 miles to the third, using USB leads that I knew worked fine as I had updated my Montana and an XT using them. I also knew that the 3rd computer I tried had updated the owners Nav V unit last year. Alas all to no ...

Re: Map update

Thanks for the response. I have updated this particular Nav V unit a number of times for the owner. As I said, my (new) laptop now does not recognise it. Considering that the laptop is new... - Make sure that USB port works with a different USB device - Reboot, cold boot, not restart. - Try a ...

Re: Map update

You can't install BaseCamp maps unless the other device is authorised to use them, which is unlikely, or have I misunderstood your question? If so please clarify what exactly you're trying to do. Thanks Thanks for the response. I have updated this particular Nav V unit a number of times for the ...

Map update

Hi, I'm trying to install Basecamp map updates to a friends Nav V. I have the latest version of Express and my computer is running Windows 11. The problem seems to be that the PC does not recognise the Nav V, which it used to do. I know the Nav V used to show as a "removable drive" (??) but no ...

But if I turn the unit off or allow it to turn itself off then it will the turn back on and charge as power is restored :?

If you allow it to turn off does it then recognise that it's in the cradle and come back on automatically or do you have to turn it on manually?

Re: GE will not recognise my XT

Thanks for the replies.
After numerous attempts at fixing this issue I took a very simple way out. I did a system restore to my PC to an earlier date. After that I connected the XT to the PC and GE recognised a new device immediately.
I will never understand technology
