One final thought, have you got OSM maps (open Street Maps) on the unit & enabled?
I had them on my unit & lost the voice prompts, once I disabled them everything returned to normal.

Re: New to the XT, some daft questions
I think you can do both! If you send a route & track to the unit you can display the route over the track. If you deviate from the route you will see the track underneath. Do a search on this forum, I am sure its been discussed. The unit has a 'Track recorder' feature, it is on the main screen '...

Re: No instructions with iimported track
I am by no means an expert, but my understanding is that a 'track' is just a line / breadcrumb trail displayed on the unit, you do not get instructions, you basically just follow the line. In the UK they have always been included in the price of the XT, although they show on Garmin Express as aan option that you can purchase.

Re: Zumo XT2 in few weeks?
The new unit is physically larger, so will not be compatible for those of us with the Touratech mount.

Re: Zumo XT mount & charging issues
Just for your own sanity to check it out, why not run it straight to the battery via the Garmin M/C lead.

Re: Garmin Express update error
Have you checked that you have 12 volts going to the lead & 5 volts at the pins where it connects to the XT?

Re: Garmin Express update error
Will the device charge via the motorcycle mount? As I am sure you are aware, the car mount is just a plastic suction mount with no power, power is supplied via the usb port from the cigar lighter lead. Some people are finding that from 'new' their units are requiring a good overnight charge from a >...
