Re: Custom Startup Splash Screen on the XT?

Hi guys. I just upgraded from the 660 to the XT and I'm trying to work through a couple of things. I figured I'd start with the easy one, lol. On the 660, you could come up with your own custom start up screen configured to 480px x 210px and sticking it in the JPEG folder. There was no similar fold...

Re: Locking device for the XT

I am sure Touratech has is a good lock for the unit, although a bit complicated in its construction as was the previos one in my opinion. What I ask myself is if there also is provisions to protect the RAM mount from being unscrewed which is quite easy otherwise. Can't really find out from the desc...

Re: Dashboard choices

Thanks for the reply and the info. Yes I have to agree that the Montana can be a bit frustrating on road! As an additional question then do you find the screen area on the xt, with the banners, is more than on the Montana? Someone did post on a forum a programming "hack" to make the banne...

Re: Dashboard choices

I'm currently using a Montana 680 but I like the size of the xt screen. Is it possible to have a "clean" map screen on the xt (when not navigating) I.e. with no banners? One of the many advantages of the Montana is the ability to have numerous profiles with as much or little (or no ) info...

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

This problem is more common that you think. It is not a problem with something getting to the pins, it is happening with the GPS unit in place on the mounting plate. If you look at some of the Dutch,UK & US forums, people with road , off road & adventure bikes are suffering the problem. Garm...

Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

It has been posted many times on motorcycle forums, that people are having problems with the pins on the power cables. Let us hope that when Garmin see how many they are replacing under warranty, they will do something about modifying the cable to make it more robust.

Re: speed camera and red light included ??

People were saying garmin express updates the database, that's what got me looking around in it. (I would have thought they would have updated over wifi or garmin drive) That's my impression of how it works, as I've never seen an update for it flagged on the XT. Unless it's doing it very quickly, a...
