Re: Zumo 396 - What am I doing wrong?
lkraus, That is exactly what I did, selected the end point and the start point was at the motel. It makes sense now why I am having trouble. Boy Zumo has some real weird quirks, not what you would think. So if something happened and your trip got interrupted, to start your route back up in the ...

Re: Zumo 396 - What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, I read the article and it did bring some of points to light that were probably causing my frustration. The recalculation after missing a route point and stripping the ghost points out I'm sure was an issue. I guess the bottom line is it doesn't function as I thought it would, lots of nuances ...

Zumo 396 - What am I doing wrong?
I was coming out of North Carolina and wanted to avoid Interstate 40 so I used Trip Planer to map a route on 2 lane roads. Some of these roads and intersections were little tricky to navigate so I was hoping it would guide me through it. It was a little tedious but doable. I saved the route and it ...

Re: Spoken guidance from 396 to bluetooth dongle?
The FIIO BTR3 solved my bluetooth to wired earbuds requirements, (although a 3.5 mm jack on the Zumo 396 would sure make it simpler) the buttons are a little small but it worked flawlessly the whole time. Try this, it is rechargeable and it has never gone dead on me while riding all day. You can ...

Re: Bluetooth Receiver
I too wanted a 3.5mm jack and am using a Fiio BTR3 paired to my 396. Works great and have never run out of battery on a ride, just recharge at night.

Re: Zumo 346 stutters over bluetooth
Welcome to the world of bluetooth audio. Oh how I wish it just had a audio outlet plug so I could just plug in my ear buds but no we have to go thru bluetooth. In short I get the same thing. It kind of misses the first instant of the message. Rather annoying but after a couple of days you kind of ...

Re: Zumo 396 Impressions
I used wifi to update my 396 when I first got it, I had some issue (cant remember what it was) and called Garmin tech support, they said to use Express and a usb connection to update. He was quite adamant about updating thru Express. FYI

Re: Zumo 396 Impressions
Yes the Bluetooth is in stereo, the only complaint is it seems to have a slight delay when it gives directions, the first part is cut off. Not terrible so you can't understand just a little bit annoying. The first half of the "T" in "turn right" is cut off.

Zumo 396 Impressions
I first posted in "Zumo 396 Bluetooth Earbud Alternatives" but since have had a chance to use my Zumo 396 with the FIIO BTR3 bluetooth adapter with Skull Candy earbuds and a Galaxy S9 with Smartphone Link on a trip. I always left my 396 on when stopped for gas or lunch and everything stayed ...
