I'm due to host a seminar on satnavs on Tuesday for my local club, initially concentrating on Basecamp and the relatively ubiquitous XT. The room has a large wall-mounted TV, which will show ('cos I've tried it) my laptop screen simply by connecting the two with a long hdmi lead. Demonstrating Basec...

Re: Zumo XT power cable

I split my XT power lead to instal a dashboard switch, so that I could switch the XT on and off independently of the ignition. Definitely just the two leads.

Re: Bit of Help please

Put the route in a separate list, export that as a gpx then email it.

Re: Other satnavs

That's what I thought. I'm leading a seminar on satnavs for my local club in a couple of weeks, and just wanted to clarify how interchangeable the various devices and routing software are. The upshot is that using Garmin software to route TomTom devices is possible but expensive.

Other satnavs

Does anyone know if you can purchase Garmin maps and use Basecamp to export .gpx files without owning a Gamin satnav?

Re: Locking device for the XT

Do either of you lock the mount to the bike as well?

I'd have simply "rubber-banded" to junctions.

Re: Distribute routes on multible zumo gps's

As per John's detailed explanation. My shorter version - create route on Basecamp, export as gpx and run it through Tyre or MRA in case an extra shaping point or two is needed, then create track, export route and track to a gpx to be emailed to everyone.

I follow Russ's method, but in addition the XT is set never to recalculate. Never had a problem yet. <touches wood>

Re: CN EU 2025.10 NTU

Same for me - using GE 7.20.2.0 the maps wouldn't install to computer - hung up near the end. Restarting computer and XT and running GE as administrator did the trick.
