Re: Trying to understand XT setup.

Yes, there is a good reason! Once you learn how to do it, it is MUCH easier to plan a route in Basecamp than on the XT, and virtually faffless to transfer it to the Zumo. Plus Basecamp will have all your data saved for the next time.

Re: Routes Prepared in MyRouteApp - Used with XT

Hrmmm...ok...I am not crazy but it seems to be working now. I could not find the original one that failed as i tried so many things to make it work. I created two new ones and they both work using the MRA and Drive app on the phone. Phew! I'm late joining the thread, but I have no trouble creating ...

Re: Different route data etc

If I'm publishing a route for my group to follow I plan it in Basecamp, but run the resulting gpx file through MRA. That tends to need a few additional shaping points to get the routing right.

I have to say this has reinforced my long-held practice of never allowing recalculations on the road!

Re: Spontaneous hard reset

I'd keep all my routes and waypoints on the SD card, if you have one fitted, which won't be affected by a hard reset.

Re: Need help with best way to copy a route for editing

Modifying a waypoint in a copy also modifies the original. Does that also happen when you duplicate a route?? Yes. If you think you will want to modify the waypoints, click "yes" when, having asked Basecamp to duplicate the route, it asks you if you want to duplicate the waypoints as well...

Re: What ingenious way do you handle your XT when charging?

I rest mine against my PC, leaning it back slightly. No strain on the cable, which curls up to the PC's USB socket.
