Re: Move routepoint leaves relic wiggle in route

For that I double click the route to display the route properties dialogue box, and place a tick in the 'Center Map' check box. This allows me to move down the list of all points one at a time, and the map will zoom into each pointin turn and place it int he centre of the screen. Brilliant. Every d...

Re: Zumo XT - Break the link with Garmin Explore - Query

I'm feeling quite smug, because after various hints from jfheath I decided not to touch Explore with a bargepole!

Re: Basecamp - Using the "Divide" command

I'd never tried the "Divide" function, so I've just given it a go, sharing the waypoint. The original route now ends at the waypoint, and a new route starts at the waypoint to complete the original route. No change to the alerts. So I'm afraid I can't help!

Re: Hi from South Africa

We must be talking at cross purposes. The gpx files on my phone/tablet I send to the XT via Garmin Drive. The gpx files on my PC I send to the XT via Garmin Basecamp. One seems as straightforward as the other - to me at least. Your mileage obviously varies, so I'll bow out!

Re: Is Basecamp really as crap as it seems?

The only issue I can see is that I've got to connect the garmin through a usb hub because Garmin in their 20th century wisdom fits a USB Mini to USB A cable when in the 21st century most "NEW" devices have USB C.... which is all I have available.. That could be the issue. It might be wort...

Re: Hi from South Africa

Not wanting to be an apologist for Garmin, but I don't think Garmin Drive for Android is any more back door than Garmin Basecamp for Windows. Agreed, both have their pluses and minuses.

Well I had to downgrade from 6.3 to 6.2. I'll hang on and see what people make of 6.4!

Re: Explore and Mapshare questions

he other thing that concerns me: would I be required to have something Bluetooth (either earbuds or speakers) to have audio turn instructions? With the 595 there's an audio out jack on the octopus cable and I just plug into that with my earbuds, does the XT have that? You'll need Bluetooth. The XT ...
