you can artificially sort the road books in order in BaseCamp.
You can also sort by half-day J01-01 Morning, J01-02 Afternoon, J02-01 Morning, etc...

I found that if you save your Basecamp files as a .gdm file instead of a .gpx the file goes over to the XT with loss of alert or non alert status and has to be split up.
