Re: MacOS Sequoia and Basecamp - no bueno!
Yup, I know they can't both run at the same time. I'd run Express first just to see that it "sees" the XT, then I'd exit Express and run Basecamp with no luck. It all seems so sketchy, I wonder if someday it just plain won't work at all!

Re: MacOS Sequoia and Basecamp - no bueno!
Thanks for suggesting DRIVE. I'd completely forgotten that was an option. Next time I find myself stuck... I may give that a shot.

MacOS Sequoia and Basecamp - no bueno!
I'm having issues... XT connected to my MacOS machine... Garmin Express will come up and connect just fine. If I run Android File Transfer it will ALSO come up and connect just fine - but running Basecamp... it never sees my device. Security settings for Basecamp are set to "full disk access ...

Re: Mac users using Android File Transfer
I tried MacDroid a few days ago, and could not get it to work. I killed it, then fired up AFT and BOOM it connected... (yes, AFT was completely not running when I launched MacDroid).

I would contact Garmin support - you may perhaps have a bad unit!

Re: Garmin Vehicle Power Cable With Extra USB Charging Port
Has anybody ever "worn out" a Mini USB port? I've got some gear that is 15-20 years old, with a MiniUSB port that still works just fine. I don't see the harm in just using a cable for the XT when in the car. Adding a bike mount just adds extra junk on the dash/windshield/wherever you mount it. FWIW ...

Re: Airline Travel After Covid
If I'm going to be driving when on a trip, the XT always comes with me on my carry-on. It has NEVER been a problem.

Re: XT cradle mount question
I always give it a quick wiggle and tug after mounting it - if I can't pull it off with my hand, I'm not concerned about it magically popping loose later. I've criss-crossed the Rockies and all over the Smoky Mountains a couple times without a single incident.

Re: Nice side by side comparison between XT and XT2
Weather animation while rolling would be a pleasant surprise, but I'd wager that if it was lawyers who made them turn it off on the XT, there's no way it would be enabled on the XT2. I'd LOVE to be wrong, though!
