Re: Map Details

Well, that's how I got the map on the computer in the 1st place, that's how I presume that it is the same identical map... the latest express update wouldn't let me install to the computer until the map was installed on the XT 1st. I haven't tried BC with the XT connected and utilizing the XT map......

Map Details

CNA2023.1 I have the map loaded on both Basecamp and the XT. In Basecamp with details at 'highest', it shows less detail than the same map on the XT. I checked that the zoom level was the same, 120ft or 80ft shows the same on the PC. Specifically I have noticed some roads/streets in a cemetery that ...

Re: Power overload cut off

Stu, I here you on that one... I dislike being the guinea pig as well.
Even at work I won't allow system updates to our BAS system until someone else has done them 1st.

Re: CN NA 2023.10

I haven't installed this update yet, but have you tried changing your zoom level and see the results?
Could similar to how Basecamp works with maps. The more you zoom in, the more detail you can see.
Just a theory...

Re: Power overload cut off

The XT works and charges when connected to USB and USB is 5VDC so therefore the XT must require 5VDC. I imagine that there is likely to be a step down transformer (electronic type) within the XT or the XT mount to step the 12VDC from a motorcycle or car to 5VDC for use within the device. The step d...

Re: Music Pauses for Navigation Instructions

I've also noticed this with my XT.
When I'm playing my iPod music thru my Sena headset the XT will interrupt the music for navigation instructions, however when I'm playing the music located on the XT it will pause the music for the nav instructions then restart the music.

Re: Open Street Maps on Zumo XT

I've also used OSM maps on my XT(as an experiment....) and while they can (but not always) be more accurate than the Garmin provided maps when it comes to roads and other geographical details(ie bike trails, attractions, etc...) the OSM still are lacking in other database background info. Like Jfhea...

Re: new PC

One potential alternative as you are working with a 595 and not an XT, you might look into the GMTK tools package.
Yes, I know it is 'out of date' and no longer updated, however I'd think it should still work on the older units.

Re: Music playback shuttering/choppy?

Mako, sounds like your issue is XT related.
I've used the XT music player and it will pause the playback to make it's announcements and then continue the playback when finished.
No issues with it being choppy or noisy.

Re: Basecamp is in final version?

Would not surprise me. My gut tells me that they are trying to attempt the route of not having downloadable software in the near future..... and they host everything in the cloud... like Microsoft has tried to do with their "Office365". There are other software companies also going this wa...
