In my area, I seem to get warnings for being 'off road' in areas where the map is not up to date with new/moved roads......

With 7.24, Garmin removed the option to install to the computer UNTIL the map is installed to the device 1st.
Once the map is on the device, it can then be "reinstalled" to the computer.

Or you can uninstall 7.24 and install the previous 7.23 release.

I've came to the same conclusion on traffic data...
Last year on a trip to the east coast gps kept trying to send me on a 100 mile detour for a closed road, but yet traffic signage indicated local detours ahead, so obviously I followed the local signage and ignored the Garmin warnings.....

Tell us how you have your BT connections setup. It sounds like you are pairing your both your phone and XT to the headset... that causes problems, as you are experiencing. One thought, as I have read in many other posts, the XT2 is not directly compatible with Basecamp, by design from Garmin.

My best guess is that it will be installed the next time you put the XT online for any other updates, regardless of what updates are pending. I doubt they will let you selectively skip updates.

1st thing I would suggest is verify you are using a valid 'activity profile' within Basecamp for your route, other than none or 'direct'.

Another question to answer on that issue is about the map on the 'other' XT.
Are the map versions identical or not.
