Latest XT2/Tread software version
Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
I just did the tests, and in my case the phone calls continue to be interrupted when everything is installed with version 5.40. Therefore I will continue with the Explore cloud option without activating, and passing the tracks with cable like 20 years ago, thanks Garmin.

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
They have videos, logs from the XT2, logs from the phone everything that they need now for my phone call issue (which is different from @turbo19's - but I suspect not unrelated). After being fobbed off by the someone is working on it story, I take everything with a cellar full of salt. They didn't even bother to fix it on the XT2.
But - Am I fed up about it ? No, not really. I like the screen and the collections are something that can be used without Tread being involved, and it still works just like I used my XT1 - with Explore disabled on the XT1; with Tread installed but not allowed to synch on the XT2.
My phone call issue doesn't go away in that case - but it does if Tread is not installed at all. But not many people call me - ever. Partly because I'm not someone who feels the need to keep his phone with him at all times. That's what the landline is for. My mobile is for my convenience. Pity I've just got rid of the landline then.
I'm excited about the remote control for the handlebar. I've just got to get the fairing off to install it, and sit in the freezing cold working out how to program it. I'm waiting until my expectations of what it will do have subsided a little.
(My phone issue is that once a call has been recieved, the XT doesn't get the signal that it has ended. It thinks the call is still ongoing so the navigation instructions don't come back. If I wait for 3 minutes it disables bluetooth altogether and then eventually reconnects - but turns the music player on when it does so - even if it wasn't playing before!)
But I can get the XT2 to do what I want. It just irritates me when something that I find surprisng to have been in the design from the outset has been passed off as working and they seem to 'pretend' to be doing something about it. I've lost count of the number of issues I have raised over the years. No one of them has been fixed yet. So I will retract that statement as soon as I have a fault that has been addressed.

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
I have done some tests, with Tread App and the XT2.
The good news is that it now appears that when the gpx are inserted into the internal memory or microSD, it appears that ALL of the gpx content is added to the XT2 and also to the Tread App. No tracks are lost along the way. Somethings seem to have changed in this regard.
Little by little Garmin, lest you fix everything at once .

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
The latest treat version is 4 december 2024. So nothing has changed recently. This version works fine for me. Make a route and trackset in 1 gpx and i whatssapp this gpx to my self. Then open it in treat. It syncs perfectly
Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
Zumo XT2 version 5.40 was released in January, and I'm sure the handling of GPX files when importing via the internal GPX folder is different. I used to have problems with some GPX files I had saved on my PC, but now I don't.
There were elements that were sometimes lost in the process of importing the GPX files.

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
I've not had the mental capacity in recent weeks to look at v5.40. I remember installing it, but then nothing much else.turbo19 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2025 7:42 pm Zumo XT2 version 5.40 was released in January, and I'm sure the handling of GPX files when importing via the internal GPX folder is different. But ... some elements were lost ... ?
If gpx files are sent to internal storage, then the XT2 will strip out the tracks and the saved waypoints / favourites from the gpx file and store them separately. This means that they are not available should you wish to import them again. But I haven't checked this for the recent update. I doubt they will have stopped that heppening - it was deliberately coded to do that. It doesn't do it if the gpx file is put onto SD card.
Odd things happen to routes from gpx files (points moved, routes changed) after synchronisation if you have Tread installed. They don't happen if Tread isn't installed on your phone; if data isn't allowed to be saved / synched; if the BT link is not intact.
But I go back to my first statement. I haven't checked out v5.40 - and I reckon it will be a few days yet before I can think straight for any length of time.
