Shit, my hope is now less.

I'm still working on making a backup my friend.

Too bad, the rest of the XT2 hardware really isn't bad. The display is excellent.
The UI is a challenge that has only cost me unnecessary hours.

Maybe my backup will become my alternative.
OsmAnd on the smartphone for the bicycle.
And who knows, DMD-T865X for the motor bike, but it's still a bit too big and a bit too expensive for a Navigation device ;-)

Hello everyone, I know this might come little late at least for some of you, but I think I managed to fix my device by doing some sort of hard reset of the device.

So, I purchased my unit couple of weeks ago and rode with my bike with the device around 2000-2500 km and after all the suddenly after a break the device screen was totally unresponsive to touch. so, I just decided to ride home and sort it out there, as it was raining and i was totally soaked. After getting home I thought that maybe for some reason it became unresponsive due to the environmental reasons and I let it to dry out first.

But of course the device was still unresponsive after drying, so I started googling this issue and found here as well as to the Garmin support page which only gave me the solution to first try to soft reset the device and as we know this did not help at all. Here I read that some of you have gone through multiple devices and still having the same issue and as I needed to try solve this issue before my business trip, as I'm planning to go moto camping for my vacation after the trip, so I refused to believe that the only solution is to change the device to new one. And while googling I found out that there has been similar issues with earlier car gps units and for those you need to perform recalibration of the screen.

So, I tried to press the left upper corner of the screen (in horizontal mode) while pressing the power button for 20 seconds and normal soft reset was performed. So I started doing the same for rest of the corners and when I pressed the upper right corner of the screen (again in horizontal mode) and hold down the power button 20s, and then the device actually performed some sort of hard reset and maybe did some auto recalibration of the screen and so the screen was fully functional again. I believe same corner of the screen should be used in vertical mode (upper left in vertical).

HOWEVER I would like to note that my memory card was taken out and as I did not have the time to verify is it also clearing the settings of the device also from the memory card i suggest to remove the card before doing this, so after you plug the memory card back in the device restores all your settings.

So, I don't know is this some updated new feature, but anyway my device has the latest update(I don't remember the version) and the HW version is 7V804****. I hope this post might help someone out who might be struggling with screen unresponsive issues.
