Use a PC for all file work on your Garmin. Any file manipulation on the Zumo will have the Mac writing hidden files to the Zumo also. Unless a Mac expert knows how to specify that the external memory devices of Zumo and SD card are to not have trashcan management, you also have the problem where the Mac specified that a deleted gpx file, for example goes to a trashcan on the device. Zumo does not recognize that and will reload that deleted gpx upon startup.
