There were a couple of GCD files in there - you can install from those for some devices (I've used them for the 590/5)
And in Primary Firmware - there are some files like B348400.update - I think these will be for the XT - and can be put onto a memory card and installed through a very hard to get at, pre-boot screen which has very small letters and hardly any light.
app.php/ZXT-P85. I've tried this previously with a copy that I had, but it failed to work.
They are all the same number, but the date should give a clue.
But the XT can be rolled back one previous version of the software without bothering with these files.

The place to look is: ProgramData - Garmin - CoreService - Downloads - Maps
I put a search in Local Disk "C" for "ProgramData Garmin"
The search found nothing
Am I looking in the correct place?
%ProgramData%\Garmin\CoreService\Downloads pasted into the address line of File Explorer will take you where you want to go.
I tend to forget exact locations and am a terrible typist, but I do remember that ProgramData is a hidden folder, so...
In File Explorer, click View in the top menu, then put a check mark next to Hidden Items.
Then select drive C:\ under ThisPC.
The ProgramData folder will be visible on the right.
Drill down through the folders from there.

Thanks
@lkraus that got me into "Maps" and I've only got the recent '22 & '23 maps showing a total of 17.7Gb

In addition to the wasted space already discussed, there is a lot of space taken up in %AppData\Local\Garmin. That area exists for every PC user so the occupied space may be multiplied by the number of Express and/or BaseCamp users on the PC. In my case 18.0GB for me and 12.5GB for the Admin user who has never done anything but install Express and Basecamp and maybe started each one once to make sure it started OK.

Does this list contain a definitive list of locations where Garmin leaves its garbage (eg: unneeded safe-to-delete files)? I ask because I started to create one culled from this discussion but while confirming paths I found that not all of them existed on my system (I've likely already done some cleanup). I don't want to post any paths that I can't confirm so I'm hoping that someone has already done this and I just haven't found it.
Important to me that has been somewhat lacking in what I have found in discussions are:
- For any posted path there be an explanation of its subdirectory structure (subdirectory name, content, disposability)
- An explanation of what each referenced directory contains.
- Any potential side effects of deletion (eg: might a reinstall or redownload be required in the future).
