Here are my timings from last years trip.
5,57 means 5 Hours, 57 minutes
Column B = What Basecamp calculated
Column C = What MyRouteApp calculated
Column D = What the XT shows right after import
Column E = What the XT shows after recalculating on the XT (First set to Straight Line, then back to Faster Time)
Column F = The actual moving time from the tracklog from that day.

A few remarks:

1) BC calculates a longer time than the XT.
2) MRA and the XT seem to agree a lot better.
3) MRA's prediction is better, closer to my driving style.
4) I don't understand why recalculating on the XT should result in a different time.

When comparing times between XT on import and XT after recalc, did you notice if the distance changed?

No I did not pay attention to that aspect. If you like I can check.
In the past I did notice that the distance in MRA and BC hardly ever match.

I wanted to know myself. Distance in KM.
The outcome confuses me even more. For example 13 Aug 7 Kms shorter, but 22 Mins longer.
But to be fair, I did not check that the route was still the same as before, so it could explain something.

That makes no sense. I use distance (and to a certain extent time) to do a quick check to make sure the route has not been butchered when transferring to the XT from BC. Big differences do usually mean the path has changed, and almost never for the better .

I'm beginning to wonder if your riding history data, buried deep in the XT system, has become corrupted. A full reset would force it to start over learning your habits.

Serious: It's no big deal. Maybe i'll do a reset before my first big trip.
But I think my data proves what others found.

Yes, the distance is not the same as well, and can go either way (few km or miles longer or shorter), but not as drastically as the timing is. So I'm turning a blind eye to it. When I check the route, I see exactly the same route in BC and the XT, so how the distance is not the same is still a mystery which I have no desire to solve.

Maybe, just maybe, if basecamp time is longer, it's allowing you time to get up from your computer, put on your gear, and get the bike out of the garage in its calculations and the XT is simply allowing the ride time... LOL Not seriously, but maybe?

I like it. It explains the half hour longer time I often see in BaseCamp.

Tell me about it. One would think you can jump on a bike and ride... Yeah, just gime about 30 mins before I do, LOL
