I think it must be the old map as seen on screenshot from basecamp.

You can confirm by comparing file dates ... or you can just leave it there, just ensure only one map is selected on your device.

Just tried to update my PC and laptop. to 2025.1.

When updating PC I had error messages in GE several times at end of process, but kept trying and finally had success. Could not update laptop without getting the error message continuously. Tried all kinds of things suggested by Garmin support a couple of years ago when I had similar problems, although this is a new laptop that already had 2024.2 loaded without issue. Finally resorted to deleting latest version of GE (7.20?) and found a previous version of 7.18.40 and loaded that. Maps updated first time!!

I shall probably leave this version of GE until next update.

Which is odd, given that one of the improvements with 7.20 is claimed to be "Resolved an issue with map updates failing to install to the computer".

There are numerous posts on the Garmin support forum by folks having problems with GE 7.20.0.0, both in syncing and with map updates to PC. Reverting to a previous version is the common solution.

I wouldn't have a problem deleting the file even if I was not sure. You can always reload the current map.

I have just heard from Garmin support that errors loading 2025.1 are known. A new version of GE 7.20.1 is available which should have solved the problems with MSI.

I managed o with no problems
I have the same issue, in that I can't install this map to the PC. Any idea how I can downgrade GE ?

I have seen reports that Garmin Express 7.20.1.0 has solved the problem of map install to PC failures.

As to where to find older versions: https://garmin-express.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions
