The 3.5 - 2.5mm converter arrive today. When I first tried to use it I was still in the same position as last week, i.e. GPS commands ok, music ok, hear people calling but they couldn't hear me, I thought I had failed.
However, not to be beaten I did a bit of scrolling through the settings and found that my Media was set to MP3, i.e. the GPS. I changed this setting to phone and lo and behold all was good.
I can now hear GPS commands, listen to and answer the phone, and get music from my phone, either from iTunes or live radio.
