I fully agree with that. When Tread is installed on the phone, the sync of the explore db from the XT2 with the explore db in the Tread app corrupts the XT2 data by making the roads compatible with the Tread app even if not using Tread and without leaving any choice not to do it (why not simply duplicate the content of the db before usage?). Without an option on the XT2 allowing not to sync, it remains unsafe for the XT2 data to have the Tread app active on the phone. I also delete the Tread app.technoguppy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2023 7:37 pm When it says something akin to "We've enabled the user to decide how they want to interface between the XT2 and the Tread App" I'll give it a try. Until then just pretending to hold my breath. Or until one of you fine forum readers informs me otherwise, of course.

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
Fellow XT2ers, against my better judgement I bought a “Garmin dual port USB power adapter for $24.95 CAD plus shipping.
I had tried every USB charger in the house including one listed at 2.4 amps, and all of those showed to be “not charging” and as soon as I plugged into the over priced Garmin charger it showed the proper charging battery lightning bolt. The Garmin is also rated at 2.4 A so I have no clue what proprietary magic is going on but it seems to work.
The part number is 010-13023-01, I bought it online at GPS Central in Calgary.

It's a very real thing, at least in my house. I have exactly 1 cable suitable for my 595 to connect to my laptop and to charge from a wall outlet. For my XT I use only the cable that came with it and thus far have had no problems.John Jeffery wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 2:15 am Fellow XT2ers, against my better judgement I bought a “Garmin dual port USB power adapter for $24.95 CAD plus shipping.

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
When I received the XT2, I bought also an "agreed Garmin charger" (362-00113-00) with an output of 2.4A Max, not very expansive by the way. To my great surprise, when plugged to the XT2, it is not able to charge (red symbol on). Even with the supplied USB cable for the unit.
But I discover that several others are OK: the charger of my recent Ipad, all high power Anker chargers, ... and that with any cables. They always reach around 1070 mA loading (as given by the XT2 indication "Battery current" when the battery symbol is touched for 10 sec). It seems a max loading current for the XT2, even with 5A max charger. But fine for me. The decreasing of this battery current can also help to control that the battery is fully loaded...
At the other way, 2 positive points for the XT2: the loading of the battery is then pretty fast (much faster as for my previous Nav VI) and the capacity of the battery when charged is amazing.

Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
To avoid misleading info, I just checked why the Garmin number on the charger is different from the one of Jeff Jeffrey above. Surprise: It does not correspond to the number of the item on the Amazon web site (010-12791-00 instead, again different from JJ number) which indicates a 24W charger. On the item I received, the model is 362-00113-00 and 12W! It looks like a counterfeit... A google search on this model number does not lead to any Garmin charger. I will return the item to amazon. Sorry for the disturbance on this subject!Javelin16 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 8:39 am When I received the XT2, I bought also an "agreed Garmin charger" (362-00113-00) with an output of 2.4A Max, not very expansive by the way. Re: Latest XT2/Tread software version
What's new in this version?
Some things I've noticed:
1- Now we can share places from Google Maps to Tread
2- Now we can change the route profile in different segments of the same
3- Tracks not syncing vía Tread app with the XT2
4- ...
Thanks,
