The short answer is YES.

My last response to a post in the 450/550 forum has those exact instructions. Copy the .xml file from the 550 to the SD card and put the SD card into the computer card reader. Garmin software will think it is talking to a real Zumo 550.

Just note the .xml file needs to be in a folder named Garmin.
