Thought I would update this with my current steed 
Picked this up last year it was a toss up between the K1600 or the R1200RT and the RT won
After speaking to a lot of people the consensus was the K1600 is great for up and down motorways but the RT was better for the smaller tighter roads which is what I mostly ride
I have loved every minute of owning this so far except for the service costs
It has two year warranty and once thats out the way I will be doing it all myself
